THE MAGNUSSON-MOSS ACT
The Magnusson- Moss act is a Federal Law that was established to regulate warranty claims and make it easier for the avergae Joe to clearly understand what is and isnt included in a warranty. In a nut shell if a manufacturer provides a warranty for a product, they are required to provide that to you in a clear and easy to understand manner that is provided to you prior to your purchase so that you have the ability to compare it to other offerings. Seems like a good thing to me!
THE RIVER POOLS FIBERGLASS POOL WARRANTY UPDATE OF 2024
That brings us to the River Pools structural fiberglass pool warranty. We just received notification this morning on 3/22/24 that Thursday Pools/ River Pools have updated the warranty on the fiberglass pool shells to read as a 35 year warranty versus a limited lifetime warranty. From what we have been told the structural warranty is no longer "limited lifetime" since that is not a legally recognized term. They now define the term as 35 years.
BIG DEAL or NOT SO MUCH?
While at first this might seem like a big deal, it really isnt. The changing of the terms clarifies the legality of the warranty and provides you clear and precise terms of the length of the warranty.
