FLAT BOTTOM FIBERGLASS POOLS

Flat bottom pools just kind of sounds weird to me. Being in the pool industry going on 29 seasons I have only ever seen a handful of flat bottom pools and they always kind of struck me as odd. That was until I had my own pool and saw how my family used the pool. Thats when I truly discovered the unique appeal of flat bottom pools. That being said lets dive into why a flat bottom fiberglass pool may or may not be a good fit for you!

PROS OF A FLAT BOTTOM FIBERGLASS POOL

1: INSTALLATION: From a fiberglass pool builders perspective a flat bottom fiberglass pool is quicker and easier to dig and install the base making the installation of the pool quicker than a pool with a tapered bottom.

2: GAMES: A flat bottom pool is the perfect setting for some serious games of volleyball or basketball. The flat bottom means both teams are on an even playing field. No more treading water by one team while the other is standing in the shallow end.

3: SWIMMER CONFIDENCE: A flat bottom pool can be a benefit to someone that is not a strong swimmer. A flat bottom pool with a depth that will allow a smaller adult to stand with their head above water may be a great pool for boosting the confidence of someone trying to learn how to swim. The reality that you can put your feet down on the pool bottom and have your head above water can be very reassuring to a wary swimmer.

CONS OF A FLAT BOTTOM POOL

1: NO JUMPING AND NO DIVING: This is a no brainer. A flat bottom pool is not designed for swimmers to dive into or even jump into. The water is just to shallow to allow either.
